    Hi guys,

I'm getting a laptop send to me from a friend in the US (120V) and I live in Sweden (230V).

And as the adapter is for 100-240V I should just be able to use any standard power cord that fits from the adapter to the wall right?

Or can this mess things up?

    Thanks for any replies! :)

Almost all AC adapters these days should be full range, and yes you would just need the correct power plug.

    You can't mess anything up.

This is a great question and very apropos from my perspective. I'm moving from NYC to London in August for a year and was wondering the same just yesterday.

If you look on the adapter, and it reads something like 100v-240v 50-60hz, it should work pretty much anywhere. You may, however, need a plug adapter for the region you're in (in your case US to European standard).

Ok thanks guys, as I thought then! :)

Not going with any adapter, I will just use the end cable from my current laptop adapter, assuming it fits, and use or buy one that does.

Most AC adapters use a 3 prong "Micky Mouse" head, so it's just the end that plugs into the outlet that you need. Some use a 2 prong (Lenovo, some Dell, etc).

Yeah, thats what I mean! :) I have 2 different styles home already so hopefully one of them fits. But its pretty much standard stuff so assume I can buy it pretty much anywhere!
