I can get two different XPS M1530's for the same price of 1745(live in Canada). My question is how different is the T8100 Processor from the T8300. Also, how benificial is it to have DDR3 SDRAM over DDR2? Thanks in advance.

Literally, no difference between the T8100 and the T8300 - a very minor advantage for the T8300 in CPU-intensive tasks..!!
Check out this link [overview], this link and this link, to know the advantages of DDR3....But DDR3 is expensive..!!

T8100 performs about the same as the T8300 unless you are doing heavy CPU-intensive tasks like video-editing. Currently Dell has no DDR3 laptops, right now there are no benefits since RAM consumes very little power and the high latency cancels out the high memory frequency. Plus DDR3 is very expensive.

I agree with all above. Could you tell us more about what the title implies/indicates/what are they? And based on another thread presently on the first page that price is sounding high? Why?
