I currently have a triple monitor setup on my desktop computer. I have a video card that supports dual monitors, and I added another VGA card. I just ordered a Dell E1705 with a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900GS, and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to have a triple setup, using the built-in flatscreen as one of the displays (and 2 external monitors). The 1705 comes with 2 external monitor ports, VGA and DVI, but as far as I know, the card won't support 3 displays. I searched the forums and saw someone mention the Matrox DualHead2Go. Has anyone used this? If so, how does it work? Are there any other options available?

Matrox sells two different multi-monitor devices; the DualHead2Go and the TripleHead2Go. Just the other day they released digital versions of both:

    They're not cheap.

How many monitor cables will you be putting into the computer? I believe you can use both the VGA and the DVI ports to power external monitors, so you'd essentially have a three-monitor setup - the two external ones, and the laptop's display.

I would simply wait until you get the laptop before you buy anything else.

Thanks for the reply. That will be ideal if I can run both external monitor outputs and the built-in display at the same time. I talked to Dell before I bought the laptop and they said that it won't be possible. Anyway I'm not planning on buying anything until the laptop arrives.
