Now that I got your attention, why do some laptops have like a blue or red ball in the middle of the keyboard?

Thats a trackpoint, it allows you to move the pointer without the use of a mouse.
IMO better than touch pad, not as good as mouse

I'm trying, but I just can't resist that shiny, red, candy-like button... mustn't... press... it... :D

I'm a big fan of the trackpoint, wish you could find them in more notebooks.

I like them so much I have an IBM keyboard with one of those, and a mouse connector of course. It works great in studio situations where spae is at a premium. I wish they still made it. it also is great for under the desk keyboard trays.

I'll wager the artist has zero first-hand experience with at least two items on that list... :D
