Ok so i couldnt find a thread where i can ask if the laptop im going to buy can run some games, so i apologise if ive posted in the wrong place^^. Well heres the specs of the laptop im thinking of buying:
    Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo ( T8300) 2.4GHz 3072KB (L2 Cache)
    CPU Bus Speed - 800MHz
    Memory - 3072MB 667MHz DDR2
Monitor - 15.4ins TFT (Colour Shine) WSXGA+ Colours
    Display Resolution - 1680 x 1050Pixels
Graphics Device - nVidia GeForce 9500M GS with 512MB DDR2
    Battery - Lithium-Ion ( 9Cells) 7800mAh
    With windows vista home premium
    All for £679

So i was wondering if this laptop would be able to run games like crysis, diablo3 and starcraft2. Also if anybody could take a guess at what the battery life would be like when gaming and then when just surfing the net. Cheers Adam

the bottleneck will be your gpu, so if u want better grafix performance, go for a better gpu. The gpu is good for mid-end gaming (the games will run, but dont expect it to be at high settings!)

its a very nice configuation though

    dunno bout the battery....

That laptop will play crysis on medium to low settings, and the other two games should run on medium to medium/high settings.
The 9500GS is not all that powerful of a graphics card, so if you really want to game, you would want to look for something better
The Gateway P-6831FX is a great budget gaming laptop, with the 8800mGTS, or the 9800mGTS it will blow away a 9500GS in gaming.

Remember the first number in nvidia models is not that important, its the second number.
    For example a 7800GTX is better than a 9500GT
The 8 indicates a higher level of performance than the 5 does.

Starcraft 2 hasn't been released yet, and Diablo 3 doesn't even have a release date yet, so any performance information you will get for those games are purely guess work and speculation.

When playing a hardware intensive game such as Crysis, your battery would last around 30 minutes assuming you do disable all power saving features.
