    Testing i7 turbo boost

    What programs can I use to test this? I've realized I've never actually tested to make sure my turbo boost works.

    it just works, it can't not work :)

    you can get cpuz or something, that shows your actual clock speed. and then some app that just uses one core to its max. no clue what you have at hand. in my case, exporting audio from ableton live does the trick. maybe some crazy flash-video/game can do the trick, just check it out in the taskmanager.

    Yeah i'd suggest just using an application that you know is single threaded.

    OK thanks guys, I ended up running Fritz Chess with only 1 core and used CPU-Z to measure my speed. Seems like I am getting the 3.06 GHz I paid for =)
