While I'd like to think this would mean mainstream 2TB SSD availability, it probably will just be the same capacities as current, but a bit less expensive.

When it comes to mSATA drives yes, because it is the best available at the moment.

Should they make an 850 PRO mSATA I'd jump on that immediately.

But comparing an 840 PRO or 850 PRO in *my* experience were better in real world performance (not synthetic benchmarks)

True I lost track and lost interest in their phones really due to their horrible battery life. The worst battery life I've seen on a smartphone despite sporting large 2300 mAH++ batteries

Their Galaxy S4 phone did horribly in terms of sales compared to their previous S3

GS4 has better battery life than my wife's iPhone 5S or my son's iPhone 5.

But back on topic. I really like my 840 Evo 1TB SSD. It needs to last another 3-4 years. By then I should be able to get a 10TB SSD. Ha! (Prolly not...)

maybe because I'm comparing it to my BlackBerry Q10's battery which lasts 2 days easily.

Sorry, back on topic guys don't want this to turn into a smartphones flame war :D

Well, each die shrink has enabled manufacturers to double SSD capacity. Now, obviously those can't continue indefinitely, as the endurance will be too low for practical use. However, by using stacked NAND, manufacturers give themselves more time. All that to say, there should be doubled-capacity SSDs every 1-2 years, which means by the time you replace your EVO, it's very possible that there will be 4TB-8TB capacity drives out by then at least.

And hopefully by then the 1TB models will be as cheap as the 256GB models today.

It's out there, but only is advertised for enterprise customers. Most personal or small business customers would balk at the price per gigabyte, which makes it appear uncompetitive despite its advantages, and the ones who can make the best use 0f those advantages are typically enterprises.
