    Is this right?
This was recorded with no undervolting, no thermal paste or any modding. Using stock everything, cept for drivers and a bit of GPU overclocking.

This is idle, with a firefox and chrome window open with both opening 3 tabs.

This isn't the first time, 7`C is very common.

Either there is something wrong with the thermal diode or you are runing the machine at -15C ;)

Try it with Everest, it seems to be the most reliable...

I have a feeling that it is using the wrong temperature sensors... Or is a faulty temperature diode as said above. cpus rarely are colder than the temperature of the air in the room they are in, so you should be looking for about 23 - 25 degrees average *thats whatmy cpu runs at, but our house is always cold never gets warmer than 16*c*

Gemstone BIOSs screw up the ACPI thermal sensors. There will be probably no software that may read the temps correctly. Many Gemstone users have this problem. Recently, a newbie and Bangert had a thread on this same issue....

Try out Realtemp, Coretemp, Nvidia System Monitor....etc

    That's odd.
I have 5930G which is also part of the newer Gemstone series (with the latest bios no less) and CPUID Hardware Monitor reports pretty good (standard) temps.

Seen many users having this problem with their Gemstones. There are old threads in the Acer forum on this.

If I remember correctly, the 5930G is a totally new machine as compared to the 5920 using different ICs and a different BIOS, so issues were prob fixed in it.

@qaz333: Have a word with TehSuigi as well. He has a Gemstone.

I have the same issue... no program will display the right temp (since they all use the same sensor). Probably not calibrated properly or smth.

hmm, I have a 8930G, the upgrade to the 8920G. You would assume it got fixed along with the 5930G.
