Hello. I'm bying a new laptop and for the processors I have to choose between
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5750 2.0 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2
    Cache &
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 3 MB L2 (+62 eur)
My question is whats the difference between the two... should i go with the t8100? is it worth the money? Thanks

I agree. The difference in performance between the two CPUs doesn't justify the 62 euros

    it's a 35sec vs. 40sec wprime 32M time difference. €62 is a good price for that difference.

I personally would save the difference though and upgrade the CPU to a higer spec in the future.

There's also the added benefits of:

    SSE4.1 (?)
smaller die 45 nm vs. 65 nm = less heat and power requirements

The performance difference between the two processors is so small, you will not notuce any difference between the two. You will only notice a small performance increase with the T8100, if you are going to be running processes which utilizze 100% cpu performance. If that is not the case, go with the 5750. The 5750 is a very capable cpu, and its cheaper, so you get a better bang for the buck

Get the T8100 if you plan keeping your laptop for at least 4 years. I tend not to upgrade my laptop's CPU, but that's just my case.
