    Hi,

I'm going to buy a new notebook, maybe the acer aspire 5671AWLMi (1165 euro) with a T2050 (1,66 Ghz) processor. But is there a big difference between a T2300 (also 1,66 Ghz). I know the FSB speed is different, but will that give a big difference in speed? (I think the memory speed is 533 Ghz, but I'm not sure)

    Thanks for the help,

    Fulcrum

T2050 is limited to 533Mhz in the FSB(that you know already) and the T2300 is at 667. The differences in speed between them is not that much and the the biggest choice between them is price.

    The T2050 is 1.60Ghz not 1.66.

Id go with the t2050, there will be hardly any difference with an extra 60Mhz

So, when you compare it in price and speed, it would rather be stupid to buy a T2300???

Only advantage the T2300 has is the higher FSB and a bit more speed. Do you know what the price difference will be between both processors?

No, I don't really know the pricedifference, but I'm just searching a notebook and I try to find value for my money. That's why I'm comparing hp, acer, toshiba,... and so I found those different processors.

The extra FSB will give an advantage in intensive programs and apps that have large movements of data. The speed differennce between the two though, isn't enough. It would have to be much more, for a noticible difference in performance.

If your doing intensive stuff, then go with the T2300, but if its just simply word processing, and the Internet, go with the T2050. Thats assuming the price difference between the two is a fair bit.
