Is it weird/odd for a computer to come with 1366 x 768 hd resolution?

I dont know much about computers so would love to know. I only know of the standards (640x480, 1024x768, 1280x1024 and etc)

Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum

    Thanks,

Nope. 1366x768 is the standard 16:9 "720p" HD resolution

    1366 x 768 is the 16:9 deviant of 1024 x 768, so I'd say it's as normal as it gets.

    For 16:9 anyway. ;)

No it's not an "odd" resolution, and is (unfortunately, in my opinion) fast becoming a standard of sorts. I don't like it for anything other than a basic use machine, or anything over, say, 13"-14", but that's really just my opinion.

+1. Having moved from 15" 1920x1200 to 15" 1920x1080 I can say I did miss the extra 120p until I forgot what the old one was like. However the 1920x1080 "feels" a lot bigger due to the aspect change - the screen on this new laptop is easily 1 inch wider than the old.

The 4:3 standards went with CRT monitors. 16:10 was great but has given way to the 16:9 entertainment standards of "HD" (1366x768") and "Full HD" (1920x1080) and almost every laptop sold bigger than a pocket calculator these days has either of the two.
