I'm gonna buy an FW, is it worth spending £150 on a better processor with this config?

Here's the spec so far coming in @ £729:

    t6500 2.0 Ghz
    1600 x 900 eco brite screen
    5200rpm 320Gb
    4650 ati 512mb
    4gb (2 x 2048 DDR2 800mhz)

I'm gonna be using this for heavy office applications, multiple programs open at once but want a nice screen and would like to get some light gaming in also (COD 2, left 4 dead). Thats what caught my eye with the refresh on offer from Sony.

I think this is a decent price (considering I'm in ripoff UK where manufacturers double their prices after forex) for the spec, just wondering whether going forward the t6500 might not pan out.
Is it worth getting a p8700 2.53Ghz which is also available but for a £150 step up in price leading to a £879 total.

not scared to roll up sleeves and upgrade the components year or 2 down the road

    Thanks.
