    Hi everyone, :)

I'm a real newbie when it comes to computers and computer hardware and accessories, and I have a question in regards to speakers and output volumes.

    My question is:
I recently purchased a cheaper, low-mid range pair of Logitech R-20 speakers, and I am worried about "popping" or "blowing" the subwoofer and speakers, particularly the subwoofer, as it is only small (about 5 inches I think), and I have been told that the smaller the size of a subwoofer the easier it is to "pop" or "blow" (I don't know any other way to describe it, but I hope you know what I mean). Basically I have been scared to turn the volume even up to half, let alone even past half, because I am worried about this, even though I would love a louder volume.

So basically I would like to know if there are any other owners of the Logitech R-20 speakers or similar ones around here and what volume you guys turn it up to, so I know what volume I can safely turn mine up to (if it helps, I listen to bass-heavy music, so that has to be taken into consideration).
Also, I would love to know any way anybody knows of knowing when you are pushing your subwoofer too hard, i.e. if there is any way to know if the volume or bass is turned up to a dangerous or unsuitable level to the point where the speakers could "blow".

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.
    Peter. :)

5"? That's barely a component speaker, not a proper bass speaker at all! Be very careful about putting a lot of bass through that one. You can easily pop speakers by putting too much through them, i've done it a couple of times with those rubbish 15 watt jokes you get with all in sound-systems. Having a few other speakers on the same system i.e. dedicated treble speakers will help but i wouldn't turn the bass control up on the sub (hah!) or the equaliser on your pc.
