    Sound wont switch between speaker and heaphones

    i just installed xp on another partition on my laptop and my sound will only play thru the speakers or the speakers/headphones combo, it wont just mute the speakers and play thru the input jack. the driver is fine, any ideas?

    When You plug jack into the laptop the window Realtek control pannel will pop-up and you have to select what you want to use and and klick mouse on that and press ok

    theres nothing that comes up tho. i have vista, ubuntu and xp (on my desktop as well) and they all mute the speakers sound when i plug in headphones and there's no popups.
