    Sound from my computer scaring me

    I know this is NBR but most of you here have desktops and could possibly help me out:

    HP ELITE M9510f. Only about 3 months old now. Sounds like a fan issue, but its got me scurred. Backed up all my files today but can anybody tell me what to do here? I have never heard a sound like this come out of the unit (usually dead quiet). I am running absolutely nothing but firefox, cpu usage says 5%.

    Could be a few things:
    1)CD/DVD drive - Are you reading/writing a disk? If yes, the drive is probably dying.
    2)HDD - better do an HDTune check
    3)fan - see if it's rubbing inside
    Can you take the side of the case off and see if anything looks weird?
