i've searched google for an hour and haven't found any solution to solve the choppy sound problem. anyways, i'm using windows vista ultimate 32bit. the sound is fine when watching movies or listening to music but it gets real choppy and i hear a lot of static when playing games. the thing is it only happens after im about 5-10 mins into the game when my laptop starts to heat up. i also notice a performance hit along w/ the choppiness anyone have even slightest idea what's going on? thanks.

edit: ok i tried updating the drivers (creative) from dell website and while doing so it automatically uninstalled the old drivers. now i have new drivers installed and no sound at all. the volume icon shows "the audio service is not running". i tried realtek, creative, sigmatel and none of them worked... any ideas?
