I own an Acer TimelineX 5820TG laptop (1 year and some months old), and recently (2 months, haven't used it so much) bought an HDMI (Belkin) cable so I could watch movies from the laptop on the TV.

The thing is; when watching movie on the laptop itself, with external laptop speakers or just the internal laptop speakers, the sound is ok.

However, when I connect the HDMI (Belkin HDMI) cable to my LG flat screen, the sound makes an occational crackling sounds distributed through the movie. The sound and the picture is now coming from the TV.

The picture is perfect on the TV, but the sound crackles. This does not happen when I use a 3.5 mm Jack to f. ex external laptop speakers as I said. The sound is perfect when just watching normal TV channels from an antenna/Cable TV.

    I use VLC Media Player.

The sound was also good when watching YouTube videos on the TV from the laptop.

What is the problem, and how can I fix this?

Hmm... maybe try a different HDMI cable?

(Try one with a 100% no restocking fee and a long enough return period to properly test it).
