    Hi,

I was wondering if any body would be able to advise me on whether or not it would be possible to upgrade the RAM on my sony vaio laptop above 1GB.

I have no idea why they say 1GB only.. that really sucks... Is it possible to get a patch for the BIOS or something allowing it to handle over 1GB of ram??

Why would they limit a laptop to only 1GB of RAM... its silly any ideas how i can improve the speed of my laptop, as it is a 3.2Mhz laptop but doesnt appear to run that quick. I have re installed the OS using my own XP cd and just installed the applications i needed from the recovery software..

Any ideas... I need more RAM in this machine .. help.

You could buy some stick from somewhere it is easy to return if it don't work.

You could try to flash the BIOS, that might bring up the max amount (It brought up my max capacity from 2 to 4 GB). You will really only benefit from another GB of RAM if you game or put Linux on.
