Since you have the i945PM chipset, it should recognize all socket M processors

The only core duo's you can upgrade to are the T2600 and T2700. (The T2500 is the third fastest core duo)
On the core 2 duo side you can upgrade to any of these:

    Core 2 Duo T5300 1733 2048 533
    Core 2 Duo T5500 1667 2048 667
    Core 2 Duo T5600 1833 2048 667
    Core 2 Duo T7200 2000 4096 667
    Core 2 Duo T7400 2166 4096 667
    Core 2 Duo T7600 2333 4096 667

From my own tests the T5300 is much faster than the T2500. Core 2 duo processors are more efficient per unit clock frequency (MHz)

I didnt include the T5200 because it wouldnt show much of an upgrade.

The best processors to look at for upgrade are the T5600, T7200 and T7400. They will show excellent bang for the buck. The T7600 is the fastest but it comes at a very high price unless you can somehow get it for cheap.
