I've got a few Seagate external desktop HDD that is 3.5 and it is standing vertically, instead of lying flat

I now start to realize that a hard drive lying flat should be better than staying vertically, am I right?

Should I disassemble the vertical external desktop HDD and let them use with hard drive enclosure that lies flat?

Orientation doesn't matter, just don't move it while it's powered on.
