I recently needed to purchase for clients a couple of notebooks. Bought a Dell latitude 14" with i3-4030u - typical recent unit. I was impressed with the HD 4400 and overall performance, even with a mechanical HDD. Second purchase which has not arrived yet is an Acer of probably the same intel ref spec [if indeed the Dell one followed an Intel spec] : V3-472P-324J [you think they could make these model designations any more complex?]. It has not arrived yet but gains a number of positive reviews from users and "reviewers"

this got me digging around for the next step up in terms of good performance at moderate prices, with HD 4600 & up.. I was surprised at how hard these are to find. MANY website listings mis-state the GPU - maybe as high as 40% of the listings I read were incorrect. A number of the Intel Processors seem to be ignored by the builders for reasons I'm not aware of.
Its just a way more difficult exercise than it should be.

due to the dismal state of the industry, there are a LOT of orphaned models in the wild, many with seemingly few sales, no reviews, no feedback. so not just finding a shortlist is the issue, but has anyone ever actually bought and used one???

If you have one or have perused the topic before, please post the model and your brief synopsis. I'd like to not have to go through this from scratch on every purchase I need to make or reco.
