Well, how do I do this...I just did a reformat on my toshiba notebook, left 25GB for XP Pro and other program files (more of a family PC w/ not many programs) and the rest for files (about 30GB) And I want it to have it store the files that are saved on the desktop or my documents and such to the E partition. That is, if this is possible, and I believe this is....so how do I accomplish this?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Well it depends. If you are talking about installing...then by default windows does everything to the C: Drive. You will have to change the path name when installing to do it.

If you are talking about P2P programs or web-based downloads you have to change it in the settings.

    Hope this helps.

You can change the default install path, but it requires editing the registry. If you are ok with that, google for the info, it is out there. I've done it and it works fine, but I don't remember exactly which keys and values to change.

Ok, thanks. Installing programs to the C partition is fine. But I want files to go to the E partition.
I am pretty comfortable w/ editing the registry, so I will look around for a tutorial or something that tells me what I need to change.
