Seagate aquired Maxtor a few months back, IIRC, and now it looks like they are having Maxtor stop production on ALL Hard Drives, with the exception of two hard drives.

About time. Maxtor drives aren't that good anyway.

Didn't maxtor take over quantum a few years ago. That's interesting the death of 2 companies with one blow :D gotta love the business end of the tech world

Maxtor and quantum aren't that great of hard drives anyway. I have 3 quantums, 1 dead, 1 dieing, 1 almost died but came back to life. 2 Maxtor, 1 dead, 1 fine (last time I checked).

    Hmmm strange :p

Ive had around 6 or 7 seagates die on my in the past 4 years, and only 2 dead maxtor drives... I was always under the impression that maxtor was better than seagate... lol

But then... hey... now we got less choices... wooptiedoo

I haven't had a seagate die yet, and I only have older seagates.
