I have an HP dv5z. It has a 15.4" WSXGA+ screen. I want to upgrade to WUXGA. There are plenty of 15.4" WUXGA screens for Dell laptops. I was wondering if any of you have one of these laptops and can take a photo of the connectors used on the screen. I'd like to compare it to mine and see if there's any chance of swapping.

The current screen is an AU Optronics B154SW01 VB. Hopefully someone out there can give me an answer so I don't have to find out the hard way (buying a new screen and finding that i can't plug it in...)

I have an XPS m1530, but don't have the time to open the screen up. However, I find the guide that Thund3rball made on this thread to be very helpful when opening the XPS screen.

If I'm not wrong, Thund3rball used to have a 15.4" WUXGA screen, but replaced it with a WSXGA, as seen in his signature.

Anyways, here's a glimpse of some shots he took. Not sure if those connectors would match your HP though, so you may want to read his guide...

You could probably just also purchase an entirely new WUXGA LCD screen fit for HP Pavilion specs. Though compatible with a bit older HP models (HP dv5000), you may still want to checkout the following 15.4" WUXGA screens as they might also work for your dv5.

HP Pavilion dv5000 Series 15.4" WXGA Glossy Widescreen Laptop LCD Display Screen Module from Getpartsonline.com

HP Pavilion DV4000 DV5000 DV6000 15.4" WXGA LCD SCREEN from Amazon.

    Hope it helps...

Thanks for the pointers, I'll check out that other guide.

Unfortunately those DV5000 screens are only WXGA, not very high resolution at all. I have 1680x1050, I want 1920x1200.
