    Hi

I wanted to update my laptop from hd to full hd. The full hd panel I've is a (13.6"x7.6") WUXGA (1920x1080) Full HD Glossy LED compatible with ASUS N53SV from samsung.

    My laptop is a: r500vj-sx054p
    Motherboard: k55vm rev 2.2

The idea for the mod came up when I saw a ASUS K55A-SX144P i3-3110M 15.6" FHDLED (1920x1080) which uses the same MB. I tried the samsung panel I've already with my original lvds cable but just the backlight turns on nothing on the screen at all so I think it's the wire on asus parts.eu they have 4 wires for the k55a dose someone know which is full hd? I also contacted the saler company of this laptop but I haven't got any replay.

    Thanks in advance ssd256

I am trying to do the excact same thing to a R500VJ laptop. The original screen was busted and I would like to upgrade it to a 1080p panel but the backlight is all that turns on. Did you have any luck in getting a 1080p panel to work?

    Thanks!

I, too, would like to know.

I have an ASUS R500VM-MS71, which I believe is nearly identical to the K55VM model.
