    Hey all,
My compal gl30 14.1" 1280x800 screen has a few light spots from pressure put on the screen by a previous owner. Not too bad, but it's kind of annoying. I know the geforce go 7600 supports very high resolutions and I'm wondering if it would be possible for me to upgrade to a 1440x900 (wxga+) screen. I know how to replace the lcd from the detailed pdf manual, but will this laptop support such an upgrade? I'm assuming it would, and the vid card would automatically recognize the higher resolution.

If this is the case, can I just buy any brand screen that is that resolution and is 14.1"? or is this not so?

Secondly, the hinges are a wee bit weak, like when I open it to any position, the screen wiggles freely about 1/8". My other laptop is solid as a rock. Is it possible to just tighten these hinges a little bit?

    Thanks,
    Ezra
