    SSD today - not when they make one

    What about I just plug one

    of those 16GB Flash Drive

    (I have a flyer that have 1

    for $149, not shown on the

    Fry web store) and INSTALL

    Windows on it / U thoughts

    Cant...the only way to install an OS is through the HD/SSD installed within the system.

    Nobody has found a way to boot from a flash disk or expresscard.

    Still cant. You can only boot from the internal HD/SSD...no ifs ands or buts. You cannot use a flash disk or expresscard. Its been tried in every different way...no luck.

    I could see some sort of future gadget with an OS and various other things on it that you can just plug into any pc and work from.

    Usair, why would you want too? Those are USB sticks, right? which is a pretty slow standard compared to HDD's, and is like 1/3 or 1/4 as slow as most modern SSD's. However, if you want to, it is indeed possible.
