    what notebooks or options are there for upgrading systems with solid state memory, such as intels turbo memory. I wish to purchase a model such as the t61 from lenovo, specifically for that feature. But what I would really want is a 2,3 or 4gb option instead of the 1gb. Are there any other manufacturers that offer a larger ssd cache for the drives, or is this not availible yet. I am aware of the solid state drives that do exist, but they are way to expensive and probably only fit specific manufacturers. Or maybe is 1gb all the board will support right now, and future revisions will be upgradeable.

    The 1gb is not SSD, it's just RObson, a technology where a flash drive is used to store important OS system that will allow the OS to boot really fast.

    A real SSD is like the one Dell is implementing in Latitude D630, D830, and so on.

    Robson isn't exactly not SSD. It's an implementation of SSD. It just won't show up like a drive. It's a form of cache and prefetch memory that currently can only be used by Vista.
