I have SONY FE notebook and I would like to upgrade my memory to 1 GB.
However, there are so many kind of memories.
I don't know which product can use without conflict.
Could you please give me detail information?
    Thank you.

Any PC2 4200 (thats the DDR2 533MHz RAM) or PC2 5300 (thats the DDR2 667MHz RAM) should work. However, I (and others) found out that the Sony BIOS doesn't support 667MHz, so it will be automatically downclocked and run at 533. So from a price/performance perspective you should buy the the PC2 4200 RAM.

    A little more details:

    Specifically you have to make sure it is 200 Pin RAM. That's is the standard notebook RAM size, other Pin sizes won't fit. A good example is the Kingston 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) or the Crucial 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200). Both can be found in the U.S. (e.g. Newegg.com) for around $100 a piece.

You can also put in 667MHz RAM like Crucial 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300), but like I mentioned you will not benefit from the higher RAM speed as the Sony BIOS clocks it down to 533MHz. And 667MHz RAM is still more expensive than 533MHz RAM.

I thought Centrino Duo notebooks were supposed to support the faster ram? Then again if it's a BIOS issue maybe Sony will issue an upgrade at some stage
