I'm debating on whether to get WSXGA+ or WXGA on my 15.4. Honestly, the WXGA I have right now seems like perfect size on my screen, but the thought of higher resolution is just so appealing to me. I'm really worried about eye strain. Which stores have WSXGA+ 15.4 models I can take a look at????

I saw one in Best Buy. The only one they had was an ASUS machine. I would also check out some local college bookstores. Many times they carry machines that the local electronics stores like BB and CC don't have. Thats where I was able to see(and use)what WSXGA+ looked like on a 15.4" screen. I am glad I didn't go for WXGA. if I get tired reading something that looks small to me I just do a Ctrl +, works perfect in Firefox.

You guys have Microcenter there in Detroit, I'd imagine they have some higher end stuff that would have a WSXGA+ screen?

I'd say Best Buy, particularly some of the 17" gaming notebooks.

I just visited my Microcenter in Houston yesterday and they didn't have such. The highest resolution they had for display was 1680x945 on the 18.4" Aspire 8930 and Vaio AW instead of having those models with 1080P screens. :(

There's a foot of snow out today. I'm just going to get the WXGA because some of the WSXGA+ screenshots hurt the hell out of my eyes. I'm young, but my vision is not great and the WXGA fonts and icons seem perfect to me. With such nice specs on my machine it seems like a downgrade to go WXGA and miss out on some screen res when watching movies, but I feel this might be the best way to go.

Why don't you go with the higher resolution and Ctrl++ when reading things on the web and/or adjust your DPI setting? That way you will have the best of both worlds, a higher native resolution with a great picture and a lot of screen realestate and the ability to read text at a comfortable size when needed.

I have terrible eye sight and I love the WSXGA+ screen. I would have made a big mistake if I went for lower....
