Hi I`m new here, hope I`m posting in the right place.

I have a friend who has a HP Pavillion dv2000 with an NVidia ge force Go 7200
    video card.

Her graphics are playing up they are turning negative (like you got with photographs pre digital cameras), I`m thinking the card is on its way out.

What I`d like to know is, a) am I coreect and b) if so, what graphics card would be able to replace it as it appears the 7200 is no longer made?

    TIA

    Mary

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

    you cannot upgrade/swap that videocard

the only thing you can try to is update your videocard drivers.

I recommend to check out HP support site to see if they have updated drivers...

    or go here:
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=88
    - try the 175.xx and the 179.xx drivers first

Look for the Drivers that say "HP/Compaq" next to it.

Remember to remove/uninstall your current Nvidia drivers (in Add/Remove Programs), before installing the new drivers.

You can replace the graphics card in some sorts. If you wanted to you could get a socket P processer and an motherboard with an 8400m gs and put it in and it would work. Or buy another one with a go 7200
