I built my sister an AOpen mini PC last year. It is all laptop parts, mini pci wireless, 2.5" HDD, intel Pentium M cpu, slot load DVD/cd-rw, etc. We ran into problems MONTHS ago where the cpu blower fan started to die. It has been dead for 3 months now and the comp won't boot for more than 5 mins without overheating and shutting down.
    I can't find a replacement fan ANYWHERE!!!!!!
the stock fan is a 50mmx50mmx10mm blower type fan.

if anyone can tell me where to purchase replacements I would GREATLY appreicate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will paypal anyone $$ who can tell me where to purchase these!!

thank you in advance for any help!!!!!!!!!

If you're talking about a standard 50x50x10 (mm) fan, take a look at this link.

    Newegg 50mmx50mmx10mm Listing

Hopefully those are what you are looking for.

If its like that, have you considered taking it apart to see what size fan it uses? (Although I assume 50x50x10)

In addition look at the wiring, should be either 2 or 3 wires. Buy a replacement fan, take the current unit apart, replace the fan + connect the wires properly, reassemble it and you should be good to go.

Does the fan not spin at all or what? I've had good luck rebuilding fans if they only barely spin.

nopes =/ i already purchased a 50x50x10 straight through fan from Fry's and tried it, I get 6 minutes instead of 5 before it shuts down because there is no pass through for the air, all it does is hit a flat piece of aluminum that is right under the fan intead of blowing through the fins to the side of it and exiting out the back of the pc. I then cut the frame on the side so at least some of the air will go through the fins out the side of the fan and that gave me an extra few minutes as well but again overheats and shuts down. I tried to improve on the cut of the fan casing and ended up breaking a blade off and is now useless lol. This thing isn't going to work short of a blower fan. I don't have to pull out the ram, cpu, and HD and check out the rest because of a $5 fan.

nopes it was DEAD dead. I did everything before i gave up on it, i lubed it several times and it added 2 months of life but in the end the fan was totally dead, middle was worn out and blades fell off the actual magnetic part.
I just want to buy replacement fans for the future but no one has them. I emailed AOpen who never responded to me either. Only other device that uses this fan is a Vantec NAS box which is way too expensive just to purchase for the fan inside.

The actual fan model that came witht he unit is a Y.S Tech D.C Brushless Blower BD125010HB

I found Ytech USA this is the exact company that made your now not working blower. Click on the blowers section on the top of the page and then select 50-80mm and there you go those look like the blowers you could use especially this one or Look at their numbering system. Contact them and see what they say to you.

I also did some further searching on google and by any chance is this compatible with what you are looking for?
The company is called quickflow and the link to the DC fans sections is here. You can either call them at the number listed or contact them via email.

Hope any of this is of help to you...

the 2nd link won't work it is 15mm thick instead of 10 but more improtantly the blower exit is only half as wide as the oriignal.
The YS tech site doesn't sell direct and list resellers, closest in my area is an hour away which I would def drive to! Although most likely they sell in bulk and not in a quantity 1-5, however if i have not found another place by monday i am going to call and give it a shot, couldn't hurt.

have you had any luck with the aopen heatsink and blower? i have exactly the same problem, the aopen website is a shambles and no one seems to stock aopen parts. my cracking little media centre mini pc has ground to an overheating hault. let me know if you track one down or better still track several down as i'd buy one from you.

i have one of the very first models, mp915-b.

they look great but are horrible for overheating. i have had two go through exactly the same problem except that i think the issue with these ones is that the cpus get so hot that either the fan starts to melt and malfunctions or the heatsink gets so hot that beyond the internal heat spec that beyond 60 degrees C the fan cuts out as the code doesn't know what to do.

i'd love to hear if your fan reinstall works out.

anyone else have similar problems with these units?

right now i'm putting mine in the freezer to get it to work for 15 minutes at a time but may actually sell them as the design seems poor considering how powerhungry the celerons seem to be.

I also have a miniPC 915-B. The CPU fan in mine also failed about 9 months after purchase. I searched high and low looking and finally found a source in California about a year ago. Since the fans were so hard to find I purchased 5 of them. The new fans are much sturdier looking and mine has been running flawlessly for a year now - no noise or vibration. I installed a second one in a 915 I sold a client and it to has been fine for a year now. I would like to keep one "just in case" but I would be willing to sell the last 2. If I can find the information for where I purchased mine I will post it.

Replacement fan is available from here: abc01.com/store/pc-327-40-mp-915-minipc-cpu-cooler-fan-90ma6150110.aspx . I have bought one (and a spare) and installed and it has been running OK for about a year. Don't be alarmed if they look different, they are more robust and still fit the same space and mounting holes.
