My wife's laptop battery life has been declining for the past few months. Last week it was down to ten minutes or so, fully charged. Now the laptop will not power on even when plugged in. Could this be just a battery problem?

    Thanks for anything

When plugged in it should power on even with a dead batt or even if batt is out. Sounds like more than batt.

If the laptop is not powering up, it's definitely not a battery issue. I would still suggest removing the battery and trying to power it up without it. If that doesn't work, you may need to remove the back panel and try both ram modules separately. It may be an upseated RAM module or something.

Pop the battery out and make it only run on AC power

Thanks for the help everyone. It works now.

My wife didn't have it plugged in all the way. I got home last night, plugged everything in, turned it on, and it worked. I had to laugh.
