    Replace Keyboard

    I need to replace keyboard on Asus X51R laptop. Can remove board but unable to remove cable.

    I believe that you slide the white thing flat towards the blue thing.

    tried that but very stiff. There are 2 little what looks like levers at each side but no movement from them

    I think the "leavers" are only to hook onto the black connector after the white plastic bit has been released, or at least that's how it looks from here.

    Thank you have been able to release cable. One of the keys has stopped working and guess that means new keyboard. Have cleaned key but no joy

    For future reference, even if you break the white clip off the black part, you can still snap it back in and use the connector. Just don't pull up on the connector as its possible to rip it off the board completely, this is not easy to repair.
