    Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has some clever ideas to remove the dust stuck behind the LCD panel. Right now, there are several large specks of dust that looks like dead pixels, and a few smaller ones that appear as tiny, blurry, dots on the screen.

I thought about opening up the case and removing the backplate of the LCD, but I suspect that would let even more dust in. I have dislodged two of the dust specks so far by knocking quite forcefully on the front of the LCD panel, but the rest would not budge.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there any way to remove the dust without opening the back of the LCD in a clean room? Perhaps by vibration, heat or magnetism to induce the dust to settle at the edge of the screen and out of the way?

Whoa, that must be annoying. I gusss it does happen, since my cellphones have all had dust and dirt behind the screen.

My baby is still relatively new so I don't have dust behind the screen, and hope it doesn't happen.

I keep my screen very clean all the time. I try to keep the dust off with my microfibre ShaggyMac.

I've also noticed those glossy screens are extremely dust happy. They attract dust like crazy~!

I think you're going to have to remove the bezel and clean the dust off that way.

Wait. For glossy screens is there a piece of glass between the panel and the outside world or is it just one piece? Because if it's just the panel, then I don't know how you're going to get at the dust.

Probably it's not that they attract it more, it's that it's more visible. In the light lighting, when dusty, my matte screen shows all the dust particles very clearly ;)

omg yeah, dust on a glossy screen is super annoying. I carry a light cloth around in my bag at all times to wipe that **** off of the lcd every time I turn the notebook on. I've given in to buying the liquid lcd cleaner you spray on a cloth to get some really stuck on dust off, and I HATE needing to use the liquid cleaner.
