    Ordered a T500 a few days ago with 2GB RAM (PC3-8500 1067MHZ 1DIMM)

I want 4GB of RAM. I have heard that to get best performance, both RAM slots should be of the same company. To what extent is this true?

    Would you recommended that I buy 4GB ( http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148191&ATT=17-130-967&CMP=AFC-C8Junction) for $58 or just 2GB ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148192) for $29?

Could someone also confirm that the above RAM would be compatible with my laptop?

The T500 uses the GM45 chipset which can support 8GB of DDR3 memory. If you only have 1 2GB stick currently, just pick up 1 more 2GB stick from Newegg or any major retailer. Just make sure you get DDR3 memory with a lifetime warranty (ie. reliable manufacturer).
