The PC6400 memory will definitely work. Whether it'll run at PC6400 speed depends on your chipset. Even if it does run at PC6400 speed, it's not a worthwhile upgrade unless you increase the quantity of your memory as well. The performance difference between equal amounts of PC5300 and PC6400 memory is negligible.

Definitely. Even though your laptop may or may not support the full speed of the PC2-6400 memory, the BIOS will automatically accomodate it by bumping down the speed of the RAM to PC2-5300 speeds. You'll be fine. =)

Thanks for the quick reply. Im jumping from 2GB to 4 GB and Amazon has 4GB of OCZ ram for under $20 ($15 rebate). How is OCZ RAM quality?

Excellent! I own two kits of OCZ PC2-6400 4GB SO-DIMM memory and have been very pleased with their performance. You might like to know that OCZ offers a lifetime warranty, superb customer service and support, and their RMA department/process is to die for. You really couldn't have made a better choice! =)

4 GB for under $20? Seems like a pretty good deal, and that RAM works well with your system too.. Nice job.

    On NCIX.com, they offered 2x2GB corsair 800mhz CL4 ram for $15CAD, about $10USD.
