    Heya Guys,

I needed some help to upgrade the RAM for my really old packard bell igo 2142 laptop. Currently, it has 96mb (+32mb shared graphics) and i wanted to upgrade it to its maximal capacity which is 384mb. However, not being so technically minded, i needed some advice on which type of RAM to buy, where to buy it, and where to install it. The reason i wanted to upgrade the RAM is coz its running windows XP and its really slow at multitasking as i run several browser/spreadsheet/word processing windows inthe background. Also, the main question is, would increasing the RAM that much make any difference at all. I am waiting for the Merom laptops to be released as this machine does the job ..just about...

    Thanks

    J

You should be able to find compatible RAM from Crucial. As to where it goes, either under a door on the bottom or possibly under the keyboard. See if your manual has any details.
