Head over to Crucial.com, there is a small utility that you can use to scan your system and it will tell you what you can upgrade to and with.

PC2700 is clocked faster than PC2100. It's 333MHz vs 266MHz. The practical benefit of going from 266MHz to 333MHz is practically nothing. To answer your original question, you're looking for 200 pin DDR SO-DIMMs of any speed. The Inspiron 600m should be able to take up to 2GB.

Simply buy a stick of PC2700 (333mhz) DDR. Any brand will do. Dont waste your money at Crucial, buy on ebay.
