    Trying to get into CMD prompt without actually booting the computer to run check disk as we got a bluescreen when booting, how do i go about this?

    if you hit F8 before windows starts and pick safe mode with command prompt will that work? If not you can always boot a windows CD and then choose recovery console?

    It wont boot into safe mode, so no, and the cd's are lost atm, trying to find them. Any other way?

    Most "legal" boot CDs require a windows CD to make, but if you can find a copy of the not legal Hiren's boot CD it should work.
