    Quick Issue Need help asap

    :confused: Just bought wd 500gb hard drive 2 days ago everything been going smoothing till this afternoon. I was just transfering some stuff over from 1 folder to another about 4gb worth. And my comp froze had the white screen with the aero circle. The hard drive seemed like it was working reall hard. I couldnt even ctrl-alt-del. So I powered down the system. Now all i get is a black screen after dell bootup screen. I can get into the bios, but i cant boot from nor go into safe mode. Do you think the hard drive crashed. I wont be mad if i have to reinstall because I have everything backedup. But i just finished doing that 2 days ago. My specs are in my sig thanks.

    if you have your old drive, snap it in and see if you boot up.

    then connect the new drive through usb and try to do some diagnostics... scandisk, defrag. if you have a hard disk utility, that might be a good time to use it.
