Questions regarding the NP8150, or generally 15.6" 1920x1080 laptops.

So I have a lenovo T500 15.4" 1680x1050 right now. A while back I temporarily owned a T61p with a 15.4" 1920x1200 resolution. While screen estate is nice, I found the text somewhat hard to read, and upping dpi or doing something like zooming in sort of defeats the purpose of having a high resolution in the first place, not to mention it's more taxing on the gpu.

So I'm wondering if anyone had this issue with 15.6" laptops with 1080p resolution.

Also, I've noticed 15.6" laptops often come with a keypad. Does anyone feel the keyboard becomes cramped because of this? I understand it's longer than my T500, but my T500 still barely just fits a full sized keyboard.

I'm looking at the Sager NP8150, which is why i'm concerned with this. I know I won't like the chiclet keyboard regardless, having also owned an Asus G73 back it's in early model release days. That had a full-sized chiclet keyboard and I very much disliked the feedback of it. I guess I am spoiled by my lenovo scissor switches and having a mechanical keyboard on my desktop.

Last question would be the 95% gamut display thing. How much of an improvement is it over the standard one? I'm colorblind so i'm thinking it won't me much, and I'm not really too detailed on colors that would need like IPS screen for photoshop people or whatever. I do, however, notice going from my bland T500 matte screen to a glossy screen. Colors are more vibrant and just feel better. But there's also a point where there isn't much difference for me, it's just one or the other. Like, people play with color settings to get whatever is perfect but I don't really bother with that. Will the improved display be that much better for this?

If mods feel this should go in the sager forums, move is welcomed.

I've always liked a 15" laptop with a high res 1900x1200 display, it's mostly found in business laptops but the gaming segment has caught on now too. Depending on the text it may need a little zoom but you get used to, especially since images and movies look great. The keypad crammed into the chassis I think is something they need to redesign since it definitely cramps the rest of the keyboard. Being colorblind myself having a 95% gamut display helped me see more colors visible to my eyes, I never mess around with my color settings or anything like that and rely purely on the manufacturer to get it right. I'd recommend the upgraded display if you can afford it, it's something that will keep its value in the notebook

My eyes get tired fast while I am reading the text on my NP8150.
But it's worth it since when I play games or watch movies, the graphics are awesome.

Chiclet keyboard is OK for typing. I use external keyboard while gaming. One thing good of Chiclet is it won't get dirty inside and is easy to clean.

I am colorblind too and i got the regular glossy screen which is already gorgeous, haven't seen the gamut one so no comment on that.

    I have the LG 15.6" 1080p panel.

It may lack the gamut of the AUO V4 panel but it retains the contrast and viewing angles so I am happy (since I dont do editing).
