I got a new laptop, and I'm wondering if I should unplug the adapter from the plug everytime I stop using AC power. All I do right now is disconnect the cord from the laptop when I switch to battery, but I notice the green light on the block is still on. Will the adapter still be using power when plugged in even if it's not powering the laptop?

How much power gets used depends on who makes the adapter. My Samsung adapters use about 2W but the Liteon adapter for my Zepto used 5W even when not connected to the computer. 5W starts to add up over time.
