This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I posted this in the Sony forum since I have an SZ120 with the biometric fingerprint reader but thought I'd ask the forum at-large....

    I read somewhere (I can't find the link) that biometric fingerprint readers aren't encrypted. Can anyone confirm this? I know it does add a level of security to protected programs and files, but can hackers tap into my computer and "steal" my finger print also? I love the feature in my sz120 but it makes me nervous. Is Sony/Windows working on a patch to make it encrypted? Any comments or suggestions to put me a little bit at ease would be much appreciated....
