Newbie here. Would like to know what processor I can upgrade to. No help from Toshiba, they just want me to buy a new one but I really like my current laptop, just want better/faster processor. I ran the CPU-Z and have data for review.

    ANY advise is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

You don't have much room for upgrading... There's the T8300, the T9300, and then the T9500 is the best you can do, and even that probably won't get your a noticeable increase in performance.

Your max procs are socket P processors with 800MHz FSB

    T8300, T9300, T9500

You can even try X9000 but the latter is trial and error (it works on most laptops though ) -- and very high cost.

    Goodluck!

    Edit: Commander beat me! lol

The T8100 is quiet a good CPU. But if you really want to upgrade you can go for a T9300 or a T9500. The T9500 is your fastest option.

If you're experiencing slow downs in games it is likely because of your GPU. Upgrading the CPU won't help.

I would do that... ur 8000 series card is very likely to die... but if u really want to upgrade ur CPU , T9300 is ur best option for price and performance..

Well this isn't very relevant in this thread but this is quite normal if ur laptop doesn't have a proper cooling system... u can only undervolt the CPU to drop temps... See the undervolting guide which is in the below link and undervolt ur CPU.. i used to have same problem and with undervolting , the temps don't hit more than 80C...

99 to 100C is a lot. Open your laptop and clean off the dust from your heatsink. Clean your CPU from the old thermal past and replace it with a good quality one such are Arctic Silver 5 or MX-3.

Great suggestion all....really appreciate your knowledge and support. I will look into the T9300.
One last question, is the video card replaceable? was not sure that was an option.

Is the T9500 the same as the T9550?

hey everyone, just want to thank you for your feedback and great support. My new T9559 is on the way. Looking forward to moving at light speed.
    Much thanks to you all.
    AKcadman :)

No. You cannot use a T9550. 965 Chipset doesn't support 1066MHz FSB chips.

In the future please make a thread of your own as your question had nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Thanks.

no it isn't... T9500 has 800MHz FSB while T9550 is a newer 1066MHz FSB processors.. U can only use 800MHz FSB processors so T9500 is the one.
