    Hi there.

I've tried without success to try and find somewhere on the net that describes in a simple manner an approximate equivalance guide between various processors. For example, is a Turion ML-34 more like a PM 1.6 or 2.2GHz? There was a helpful part on this website comparing pentium mobiles to normal pentium speeds, but I am particularly interested in Turion chips, and haven't gotten it all worked out yet. I understand of course that they are tricky to compare, but I am only looking for an approximation to help me choose the correct processor. I want to buy a Turion I think, but I understand pentium mobiles clock speeds, and don't know how to translate from one to the other!

It really depends on what your doing, the p-m and the turion both have strengths and weakness's. Generally speaking a p-m of the same clock as a Turion will be slightly faster but not noticably so... and of course for the $100 or so difference between the two you can get a higher clocked Turion :p.

Clock for clock they almost stand equal. One will perform slightly better in one test, and vice versa for another. Nothing that a regular user will even be able to recognize. But the price differenece will always be on Turions side.

Try to get an MT rather than an ML, they consume less power, hence less toasting and more battery life

Sure, I just wanted to add the MT vs. ML remark ;)
