Hey everyone Im new here but not new to a computer at all. I just bought a Presario V6000 CTO From Office Depot a month ago. It has a AMD Turion 64 MK-36 And Nvidia 6150. Now my problem is that I tried to upgrade my ram to the max of 2GB. and I have tried DDR2 4200 & 5300 an neither one worked. I know AMDs have a large FSB I built my desktop on AMDs. I need to know what Ram works with my laptop? I see samsung supplied the ram for HP in making the system but Why isnt ram I get from Newegg or tiger not working?

I bought these recently and installed them in my HP dv2125nr (Turion x2 and nVidia 6150) and they work just fine.

What ram did you try? I picked up the Corsair DDR2-667 and it seems to work well.

Maybe because the Turion single core uses DDR1 RAM?

    No, the MK-36 uses DDR2.

Its memory from samsung sayin 5300 512 x2. So for ram to work in my system they have to be pairs and same size and type to work?? I tried a 1 GB 5300 by its self and my computer just beeped.

Corsair ram runs in these units without issue (as that is what I have), dual-channel or not.
