I have a Compaq Presario C300. When I push the power to turn it on, the buttom will light on three (3) times and goes off. Without the battery, HD and CMOS battery it will light up for 3.5 seconds. With all of the parts back in the laptop, the light will come on for four (4) seconds, blink three(3) times and go off. The laptop has been in the house all the time. No kids playing with it or dropping it. I haven't change parts or added software. This laptop is for browsing the internet and nothing else.
I can't see a thing on the screen. I can't change CMOS settings. The laptop was fine yesterday and today I got this problem. The HD was connected to another laptop and it works. The memory PC4200 works. The only thing I can't test is the battery. I have a tester and the charger shows 18V.

Any ideas of what can be?

    Thank you

You say the RAM works OK, but is it seated properly in the computer?

Perhaps try removing and replacing the RAM and, if there are two modules, try each in turn in slot.
