    Where can I buy a penryn cpu? I cant find anything on ewiz of newegg

    just cause they're "out" doesn't mean they're out... pretty much only manufactures have them for now. it takes a while for processors to get to the public

    Can existing Core 2 Duo equiped laptops handle this upgrade. I have the T7400 now.

    So the penryns were formally released, that doesn't mean they are in stock anywhere yet. When it comes to things like new processors usually they'll become available on brandnew computers purchased from manufacters first and then they'll show up for purchase on their own.

    The T7400 can only be upgraded as far as the T7600. Santa Rosa processors (T7250, T7300, T7500, T7700, T7800, some of the T5xxx) may be able to be upgraded to the current Penryn processors, depending on the model (must have BIOS support for them, etc.).

    Do you think that a Vostro 1500 with a T7250 or T5270 would be upgradeable to say a T8300 or T8100?
