Does anyone know why do virtually all pascal laptops have not only half the battery life of their maxwell counterparts but also have much higher DPC latency? As can be seen in these quick examples (check the performance section for the DPC latency and the battery life):

    P55w (1060) - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Gigabyte-P55W-v6-Notebook-Review.195782.0.html

    GL502VM (1060) - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-ROG-Strix-GL502VM-Notebook-Review.187341.0.html

    Acer Predator 15 (970M) - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Predator-15-i7-6700HQ-GTX-970M-Notebook-Review.166041.0.html

I'm on the lookout for a laptop for audio (I'm a professional mixing engineer and need something for the occasional on the go mixing), I had a GS63VR that was absolutely terrible in the DPC latency department and it was ONLY better if WIFI was disabled in the device manager... That's absolutely insane, didn't matter what driver versions I used, I believe it might be due to the Killer NIC? Here's my post on that here --> http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...ointer-freezes-try-this.798873/#post-10451683

Not sure about the DPC latency, but what kind of set up are you using? If you aren't using external DACs/AMPs the Clevo P650 1070 version has a SABRE ESS 9018 DAC chip insides so it's far superior in quality to most other laptops on the market for headphone audio.

The battery is because of GSync. It forces the iGPU to be disabled... Except on Clevo P650 machines that have a mux switch and can use both still. They didn't take the battery life hit at all.

I use an external DAC. I'm even talking about the Optimus laptops such as the GS63VR that I used to own and you can see the issues on the thread I posted
